Built in 1758 by a sea captain named Gregory Purcell, the John Paul Jones House is named after the famed revolutionary war hero, who used the house as his residence both times he visited the city. The home is located east of the downtown area, near Prescott Park and South Mill Pond. Today, visitors to the site may tour the house and the original gardens, while learning about the fascinating life and times of John Paul Jones.
